welcome to Wudo Combat martial arts.

This mixed martial arts system was founded in 2002 using a blend of the many different arts practised
by Master Chris Fisher and is endorsed by the UK MARTIAL ARTS ALLIANCE.

This style incorporates Chinese Chin Na, street defence, escape techniques, knife and gun disarming.
The style continues to evolve due to constant training, an awareness of 'real street' self defence situations
and evaluation of new techniques.

Members of the the U.K.M.A.A. and the AMAUK.

I have trained now for over 29 years in both Japanese and Chinese martial arts systems, and continue to train hard each week sometimes every day.

Different styles of martial arts can offer very good training discipline and confidence for the student, as long as you have a good instructor and belong to a registered club.

I dislike it when some instructors belittle other clubs off and say theirs are the best. Whatever style you choose can be beneficial to you in some way or other.

I have noted from personal experience that a few instructors don't encourage students to progress beyond the Black Belt, and keep you practising drills, basics and the same lesson each time you train. Nothing wrong with basics, don't get me wrong, but not all the time.

Bruce Lee said 'become like water' in other words, Adapt! Adjust! Change for the better, move forward and progress. Adapt to any situation that you have to deal with, don't have set moves. If someone attacks you in a way you are not expecting, go with the flow and adjust to it.

A few years ago I put this self defence system together, it works simply, there are seven main principles that make this art work. We try and keep training as realistic as possible, no patacake patacake, softly softly approach.

I and my fellow instructors try to make you capable of looking after yourself in the shortest possible time.

Every lesson is different.

You are taught never to turn your back to an opponent, and to take control from the start.

The Self Defence combat techniques are endless, apart from the set syllabus in which you attain your coloured belts.

Every technique a student learns can be adjusted to suit their own body mechanics. e.g. If they can get into a move faster on their left leg rather than their right side, the move can be changed for speed advantages.

We try and cover every self defence situation, from escape techniques through to the possible damage every strike you do can cause to an attacker.

Finally I teach spiritual Awareness, Chi Enhancement, Lock Reversal moves, Pressure points, Strikes and Secret Techniques. After a student has learnt Break fall, Basic Stances, Blocking, Full Fighting Stance, Moving and Evading. A lower grade student is expected to do the same Self Defence techniques as the higher grades, starting slowly at first. This speeds up your technique and reduces learning time.
